Posting Content Effectively Across Your Social Media Channels

You write (or someone else writes for you) amazing content that is spot on and really draws your target audience to want to read more and more of what you are posting. However, are you posting your content in places where those target audience members can actually read it easily and share it with others?

Of course, it goes without saying that you not only want to write and post your content on your social media channels but you also want to get that content noticed in as big a way as possible. Undoubtedly, that will take time and effort but you will see that it is definitely worth all that you put into it. Your end result will be phenomenal. That has nothing to do with luck. You will achieve success because you are working hard and your effort will be recognized in a positive way. With that said, there are several different aspects of content sharing that you can follow for successful results.

  • Your headlines should be compelling and attention grabbers: The headline is the absolutely first place that you must start. If your headline is mediocre or worse, you will not be able to get beyond that point with your readers (who are existing and prospective clients) and those readers will have no problem seeking knowledge in someone else’s backyard. It is that simple.

    Of course, three seconds is certainly not a lot of time; however, you can do it if you put your mind to it. You are a great writer and there is no doubt that you can get those readers to notice you if you put your mind to it. It is definitely a really good idea to put some serious thought into your headline before it becomes your final draft.

    Headlines are not as easy to write as they may appear. In fact, in some ways, they are more important than almost any other part of your content. You owe it to yourself and to your business to really put major effort into writing your headlines.

  • Mix it up at regular intervals: From the reader’s perspective, there is nothing worse than reading several pieces of content in a row that seem the same. Even if a few of the words are different, if those posts make you feel as though you have read that content recently, that means that the writer has not succeeded with his or her content. In fact, that is a very easy way to get readers to go away. It is difficult enough to get your readers to stick with you on a long-term basis. You certainly don’t want to drive them away with boring, repetitive content.Once you start writing, it is easy to fall into a pace and a rhythm. However, you can still maintain those things and still write exciting, unique content each time. It has a lot to do with you stretching your creative wings. The one thing that is an exception to this is your “voice.” Your writing should have a consistent voice. That is one of the main reasons that people keep reading what you are posting. If they not only appreciate what you are saying but also how you are saying it, they will continue to be loyal followers. However, you want to keep them on the hook, which means that you need to continue to surprise and engage them with your exciting, compelling content every time you post.
  • Pace your status updates: You may have a great deal to report based on what happens in your business week by week. However, that doesn’t mean that it is okay to post all of those updates at once. You should spread them out for the sake of your readers.Like you, your readers are busy people and they probably do not have a great deal of patience when it comes to reading an overload of information from you. It is not that they are not interested, it is just that too much at once can end up doing you more harm than good. If you have several important pieces of information to share with your readers, do them (and yourself) a favor and give it to them one at a time.

    If you find that you are getting confused about when you posted the last update, there is a simple solution for that. Keep a schedule. It is a tool that will help you tremendously.

  • Don’t forget the call-to-action (CTA): Your CTA is critical to your content and to your business. That is because, without it, your readers have no way to reach out to you so that you can begin interacting. The best content in the universe will have a very low impact if that is the end of it.On the other hand, if you include your CTA (which is mandatory), they can connect with you and your relationship with them can begin. You will also want to be careful about the CTAs that you post in your content.

    It is a really good idea to write several different CTAs, depending on the particular content that you are posting. Customizing your CTAs makes a whole lot of sense for all businesses. Your CTA may just have a link to your website or it may offer some sort of incentive (a giveaway, contest, etc.) that will make your readers interested in getting involved with you.


Not only is it essential to write top-notch content that is on point, appropriate, and valuable but it is also essential to share your content across your chosen social media channels appropriately and in a way in which it has the biggest impact. Hopefully, the content that you post will not have to be altered too much for the various social media channels. You may even want to go one step further eventually and recycle some of your content (of course, only when appropriate) to post on the various social media channels.

Make sure that what you are writing is evergreen content just in case you plan to potentially recycle at some point in the future. The effort that you make should theoretically be spent on the writing, not the posting. Of course, on the other side, there is no doubt that it is not as easy to attract followers as it used to be, however, just as that has changed, your approach really needs to change to fit what you are dealing with now. There is no doubt that you will reap the rewards of all of your hard work.
