After we attended Revenue Summit 2017 earlier this month, we had some time to marinate on what we learned while mingling with more than 2,000 marketing and sales professionals and nerding out about all things revenue. Here are five of our favorite highlights.
Learning who has responsibility over sales enablement
A big crowd showed up to learn sales enablement best practices. We came away with nuggets like this from Showpad VP of Marketing Emma Dunstone: “When looking for tools for better sales effectiveness, is the tool reactive or proactive? Is it going to add extra overhead on the sales rep? Or is it a proactive tool that they’ll want to use because it will help them do their job better?”
Breaking down ABM
Account based marketing is coming in hot in 2017. This strategic approach turns traditional marketing on its head, taking individual accounts and creating an entire strategy around that one customer. At Revenue Summit, people couldn’t stop talking about ABM, and how it’s helped organizations align their sales and marketing teams.
Celebrating International Women’s Day
Panelists, attendees, and sponsors gave a shout out to women around the world on March 8 to support International Women’s Day. We were impressed to learn that the event promoted 50-50 male to female speaker ratio.
Learning with cool flowcharts
